Gummy Bear 365 : Day 334 - June 29th, 2008
The gummies spent most of the day inside, but when night came, they wanted to
go outside and play. I wasn’t sure about that, especially since it was a bit windy and
there was little light on the patio. I gave them a little tea light to use to keep warm and to
use to see better.

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 330 - June 25th, 2008
Thank You everyone for the kind words in yesterdays photo.
I got food poisoning over the weekend and it hit me in the afternoon on
Monday. It was not too bad that day, but come Tuesday... oh man... not
good. Any other day would have been fine, but I had my second interview
that day and I couldn’t missed it. I went and dealt with the heat and in the
end. I got the job. Two actually. Working full time for one and part time on
another.
The night came and it only got worse. I was up most of the night for hourly
bathroom trips. We both got so little sleep.
Today I went to fill out paperwork and thankfully it was early enough for Sheri to
take me. I got finished early and she drove me back home so I didn’t have to
take the bus. I had some more stomach issues for the next few hours. I had to
get better because I had my first Yelp Elite Event tonight. It was Yelp Denver’s Inaugural
Elite Event and I wasn’t going to miss it. I made it there with no issues and even enjoyed some cocktails and tried some Alligator too. That’s when things went bad. The gator was a bit too spicy. My stomach was not 100% and did not take to it that well. It was different and I probably would have done better under different circumstances.
All and all. I had a good time and got to meet some of my fellow Yelpers and can’t wait for the next event and other UYE’s.
Here’s all the swag that I got tonight. Oh and I also got a cool Yelp Elite ’08 hoodie.
I need to go rest now. See you tomorrow. :)
*Photos of that event can be seen here: flickr.com/photos/yelp/sets/72157605831036516/ *

I’ve been posting food lately. Not sure why. It just seems like the thing to shoot at the moment. Today we had flank steak with a teriyaki marinade and made some sushi rice with it for some rolls. I made some pockets with the rice and these two went right for them.

Last weekend, I made this really great chicken dish that Sheri and I both loved. I made it again this weekend with a few recipe changes and turned out just like last weekend, if not better.
We had a few pieces left over and the gummies just swarmed the pan wanting to get at it.

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 325 - June 20th, 2008
I got my phone call today as expected. It was to see if I wanted the job or if I wanted the full time position. Well I much rather work full time then work something that’s really, really part time. Because I would only be working on weeks that the Broncos played home games. So I told him I wanted the full time position. He said that he wants to
set up a second interview with the general manager or one of the supervisors on Tuesday. So I am happy about that. I know I will have the position come then. The sooner the better to get me out of the house and making money again :)
Sheri has Fridays off so we went out and tried a new place for lunch, which gives us some new reviews to write on Yelp, speaking of which. I found out that Yelp Denver is having it’s inaugural Elite event this Wednesday, which I found out just by luck and so I will be attending that. Things are looking better. :)
Today the gummies were out and about getting into various things, they seemed to be searching for something. I’m not sure what, but I guess they found it. I have had this piece of my Munny packed away in my camera bag and they’ve known that it’s been missing the arm for sometime and I guess they caught my ocd, because they needed that figure to be whole and went through the whole apartment to find it. They could have just asked, because I knew where it was the whole time. Would have saved them a few hours of searching. :)

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 324 - June 19th, 2008
Finally!
After being here for one month and one day, I can say that I have a job.
I sent in my resume to a company that at Invesco Field (home of the Denver Broncos).
It was for a Data Entry position and that’s part of what I did at Fieldwork Los Angeles for little over a year now. It’s been the type of work that I have been interested in doing. Just about every job I applied to has come up with no response. Then last Friday I got a reply from someone saying they were interviewing today at 5pm and Invesco Field. Oh man... that means it’s going to be me and other people. I went, got a new outfit and took the light rail to Invesco, which was interesting. Especially if you are not familiar with city
all that much. Thankfully I did research and have a great sense of direction. I overcompensated on time and got there an hour and quarter early. Not good as it was super hot, but good because it means I get to be interviewed first. Which didn’t happen.
When myself and the other 18 or so people that were there to be interviewed, many from what I heard didn’t have the data entry background that I have, Thankfully. I was about the 8th person to be interviewed by one of the three interviewers. I didn’t mind the wait, but was a littler nervous waiting. Okay the truth is, I was nervous ALL day long. I talked
to Bob (my interviewer) and I had a great feeling from the start of our conversation, knowing I probably looked as nervous as I felt. However it was my resume and my drive that shined through.
They have six positions available for data entry, but he told me and actually was almost
asking me to come work for him, which in the end he said if they/ I didn’t want me that
he would take me to do one of two different positions that he has on his crew. So I have
three jobs available to me. It’s which one do I prefer to take. I like data entry, but it’s only
part time and primarily only on weeks when football games held there. I want something
a bit more consistent, so I’m hoping for one of the other two jobs.
I’m happy to have a job and tomorrow or Saturday, I will know which of them I will have.
Such a burden lifted off my shoulders and I don’t have to worry anymore and get down
on myself. I can be all smiles again and can just be the happy Kealoha that I know I am.
Thank You all for the words of encouragement and being there for me during all this.
I really do appreciate everything.
Now let’s have fun with the remaining days of this years project shall we? :D
PS: Sheri ordered me a box of Sugar-Free Jelly Belly Gummy Bears, the kind that
we suspected as the kind that certain Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory stores carry.
I got the box this morning and... they WERE the same exact gummies! We knew it all
along and today it was confirmed. So for those of you who love the multi-colored gummies that I use. That’s where to find them. The remaining days will now be full of
colorful gummy goodness. :)

Gummy Bear 365 : Dat 323 - June 18th, 2008
After yesterdays... well I was very depressed yesterday, but things have changed. I’m not feeling the same way that I had. I’ve vented and had responses from friends here, Facebook, Myspace, Yelp, last.fm, etc.
Thank You all. If I have yet to reply. I will soon.
Today I made for lunch some chicken that I had been in a Asian flavored marinated since Monday and had some white rice with it. Turned out really good and I had
some extra, so I made a little take out box for the gummies. They brought out their
chopsticks (I’ve been teaching them to use them.) and started eating.

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 322 - June 17th, 2008
I’m not happy today and it shows.
I had my camera next to me so I was able to capture this sadness
that I felt today. I took some very emotional photos of myself. I’m at this
moment debating whether or not to post them. How could a person who
takes such cute photos of gummy bears, ever feel sad? Well the truth is
not of the time when I am not happy, I try to sound so in my daily descriptions.
More often times than not, I am happy, but there are those days when all you
want is hug. The gummies saw that today and left me alone until after the point
where I took those self-portraits. Then they couldn’t stay away and came over
and gave me a big hug. I needed one of those.

Fried chip anyone?
In the UK chips are similar to French Fries (but better).
In the USA chips are crisps, made by companies like Walkers, or Lays.
Fried can mean to be cooked by being fried in fat, but it can also mean that something isn't working due to hardware failure.
And of course a chip can be what runs your computer. This one is no longer functional, but Gremlin Gummy got a bit confused when I told him it was a fried chip.

Life through a lens
We’ve started watching more and more of Food Network again. We go through phases where we watch it and then we don’t. Too many good things, but not necessarily good for you. *Looks at Paula Deen’s direction* :)
Well this week we caught an episode of Guy’s Big Bite and he was making a Mojito Chicken. It looked so good that we had to get everything to make the dish and that is what we did and let me tell you... I. Was. Amazing. Sheri and I just loved the chicken. It turned out great. I’m happy because when your the cook, you want your meal to turn out good and thankfully I did everything just right. I’ve been cooking for so long that I
should have known it would, but you never know.
So next Sunday, I think we will make another chicken dish from Guy or one of the other Food Network personalities. For those interested in the dish, here’s the link: www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_...
Now for the photo.
Sheri and I have two pools, one indoors and one outdoors and a jacuzzi at our apartment. We’ve been going in the pool and I have been wanting to swim under water and not worry about opening my eyes. You see, I wear contacts and don’t want to lose them or what have you and I don’t want to take them out and be blind, which is not fun.
A little side story. Two nights ago, Sheri and were awoken at 2:30am to the fire alarm and Sheri had to lead the way as we walked down the stairs and to the front lobby. Surprised to see that a building with at least hundred people living in it, only three others had bothered to leave their apartments and went outside. I guess people don’t care to live, because I don’t see that many people sleeping through that alarm. Anyway, it was a false alarm and all was well.
Back to the photo.
These are my new pair of goggles, for when I go to the pool. I will finally be able to see underwater! :D

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 318 - June 13th, 2008
Just a few more hours and I can have to of my favorite things.
Hot Wings and a Comic Book Movie :)
I’m a hot wings lover ( www.yelp.com/list_details?list_id=FMHHTNdSDvF7QWTvn4pptg ) and anytime I see them on a
menu I will likely order them.
As for comic book movies. I love them. Especially if it’s from Marvel. As
you know I diehard Marvel Comics collector, have been for years and
will likely be for quite sometime. Although not all of their movies have
been great. I believe The Incredible Hulk will be much better than the
first Hulk movie. And with Marvels forthcoming movies:
X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Thor (2010)
Spider-Man 4 (2010, hopefully)
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
The Avengers (2011)
The last two of course are going to be nuts, what with them going to tie into each
other and only two months apart from each other. Oh it’s a great time to be a fan of Marvel. :D
Oh yeah! Todays photo. It’s kind of cheesy. It’s a mash-up of the two.
Hulk with wings. Again, very cheesy. :P
He’s trying to find the gummies and just as I grabbed Betsy, I see that he has found them hiding in a Catalina Island ashtray.
Bonus points for whoever knows which version of Hulk this is.

Gummy Gold
Today Sheri didn’t have to go into work until late today, so we had a long morning and early afternoon today. It was nice to have her around that long. Been getting cabin fever
from staying home all day long by myself. Job hunting isn’t going so well. Seems I’m really not needed at the moment in Denver. Hopefully that will change.
This afternoon I decided to draw a little and now I’m watching the NBA Finals. The gummies? Well they were in everything as usual. :)

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 316 - June 11th, 2008
I can’t seem to have anything to myself. I made dinner tonight and set my plate
down and went to get something to drink and the gummies wasted no time trying
to get my tots. Notice the green one didn’t try it after all the trouble he’s been into.
What gets me is that one of them couldn’t just take a tot, oh no. He had to dip it
in ketchup first.
*sigh* I just don’t know some times.

What gets me is that one of them couldn’t just take a tot, oh no. He had to dip it
in ketchup first.
*sigh* I just don’t know some times.

When you're smiling
As everyone expected. It was the green gummy.
(See yesterdays photo to get the back story: flickr.com/photos/venatheous/2566409890/)
Today I cleaned up the mess, sure I could have done it yesterday, but I was hoping that the guilty party would show themselves. I was wrong. So as I said, I cleaned it up and began to hang the lights out on the patio. The entire time, I kept the gummies inside. Part due to the fact that it was in the 90’s (so said the weather lady) and I didn’t want them melting. And part because I didn’t want them messing with anything and having
another bulb break.
I was only out there a half hour and twice I had to come in for a glass of water and my chest was getting heavy. Asthma kicking in. It never got to the point where I needed to use my inhaler, but I still didn’t like it. I also just felt off. So I laid in the huge bean bag we have in our living room. I closed my eyes, but could still here the gummies
making noises. Not sure what it was, but I wasn’t feeling up to seeing. A few minutes of laying there and one little gummy climbed up the bag and stood right across from me. I opened my eyes and this is what I saw.
That face said it all.
I didn’t know whether to laugh or... I don’t know what. I just closed my eyes and rolled back over.

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 314 - June 9th, 2008
Sheri and I bought these lights last week to put up outside on the patio and
this afternoon I went to put them up and I found this... I immediately got the
gummies to go outside and explain to me how this happened.

Gummy Bear 365 : Day 313 - June 8th, 2008
I’m sure this little guy needs no introduction. By now you’ve all seen him in commercials and are probably awaiting his new movie.
We went by Toys R Us and got him. He’s been roaming around out on the patios, playing with the gummies. We’re going to back and get his friends EVE and M-O, so they can play with him as well :)

Gummy Cam
I have to make this really quick, because my friend Ryan just made me realize that I have not done my photo for the day.
You see right now. Over a 1,000 miles away in Long Beach. Our friends David and Ryan are playing Mario Kart Wii with us, but we went a step further and used our webcams to see each other while we are playing. It’s so cool. First we chatted on webcam, but instead of looking at each other on our respective MacBooks, we got DVI to HDMI cables and looked at each other on our HD TVs :D It’s amazing what you can do now
a days.
This is me, taking a photo of my MacBook Pro and Ryan is the one you see in the big
screen. I am in the little screen and the gummies are on my keyboard. :)

Gummy B&E
Sheri and I explored the town today. Started off with some Thai for lunch, then I got a new pair of running shoes, a quick stop by the office... which was amazing. The view from the 26th floor of the Wells Fargo is amazing. After that we walked down to a little place that sells cupcakes in LoDo. Took in a matinee of Kung Fu Panda, which was such a good movie. Loved it. After that we did grocery shopping, picked up something quick for dinner and ended the night catching up on shows we DVR’d.
All and all it was such a great day out together. :)
