What a night... I’m still trying to recover from it all and yet in about an hour or two I’ll be doing all over again. Just not on such a grand a scale. Taking it easy tonight, focusing on playing some games and enjoying the company of friends :)

Today was a sad day for me. My favorite comic book store: Comic Universe, is closing its doors. I went by to pick up my weekly comics and saw the whole store packed with people. I would have loved to stay, but I just couldn’t. I just don’t know
what I would say or do. I mean it’s sad :( I’m going to miss the place and those who work there, but I am hoping that they will be back in the Spring/Summer like they hope to be. I know, not well written.

Today the my office surprised me with a little something for my birthday today. I just assumed it would be passed over, given the fact that it's between two holidays and we only worked 3 days this week.
And that I didn't mention it to Sheri about wanting to do anything.
Anyway, they got me a nice card and as well as these cute jumbo (almost) cupcakes. :)
I’m looking forward to having friends over on Sunday, which is my actual birthday. For now I’m going to go play some games and enjoy the beginning our four days off.

Gummy Karaoke
Sheri and I got a couple of new Wii games for Christmas:
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Super Mario Galaxy
Boogie. Sheri put Boogie on her Secret Santa list this year and was so excited when she got it. We haven’t played it just yet, but the gummy bears saw the microphone that comes with the game and it true gummy style, decided that they needed to examine it :D

Boxing Day
Today was the official clean up day. Sheri and I decided that our tree needed to go and if it was going, everything else might as well too. You see our tree died very early on. Which makes absolutely no sense as we got a fresh cut and gave it water as soon as we got it home. We didn’t even turn on the lights the last week as we didn’t want them burning up the tree, but if you’ve watched Mythbusters, then you know it’s not possible, even with 2,500 lights on a dry tree.
The gummies were very, VERY excited about today and if you remember, why, then good for you! :P No, I’ll refresh your memory. I told them that if they left the tree alone the whole time it was decorated, that after Christmas, when it was bare, I would let them play with it. Well... I kind of had to take that back. I normally don’t do that, but it was too dry and they would just end up hurting themselves and I couldn’t let that happen. I felt bad, but I told them that I would make it up to them somehow.

One more hour left of Christmas.
It’s dark and quiet at The Ocho. Heading to sleep once I’m done, because we have work tomorrow. However it’s only for three days and then we have another four days off. Which will be fun. I have a couple of things planned for the remaining days of 2007 all sure to be lots of fun. Sheri and I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
We had a great time with family today. Received some more additions to both our collection of Wii games as well as to our collection of drinking paraphernalia. :D
Going to enjoy everything we received.

A house made of Gummy Bears
Christmas shopping is done. No more dealing with all the crazy people... well I didn’t have to do it so much. Sheri took care of about 99% of the shopping this year. Sheri is so great like that :)

Gummy Bear Cookies
Today Sheri and I got some more Christmas shopping done, I picked up a bunch of comic books and got some fun stuff at my favorite Japanese market. I had to make sure that I gave the gummies a little something, because if I didn’t, they would just go through everything.
They haven’t had these cookies before, but they took one whiff and were all over it, very much like they were over the cuttlefish.

Sheri and I had such a great time at yesterday’s office Christmas party. We got so many fun gifts and had a lot of fun just spending time outside the office with our co-workers.

Gummy Sitter
When we got home today, I decided to let Warhol come out and run around for awhile. He’s usually very quiet and stays in our room most of the year, but around Christmas, he becomes very active. I suppose it’s because it was this time two years ago that I first gave him to Sheri. I didn’t realize when I let him out, that there were a couple little baby gummy bears roaming the living room.
Thankfully he’s such a good puppy dog, that he just watched the gummies.

Last night Sheri and I gathered up all the addresses of our family and friends and began filling out our Christmas Cards. It’s not quite last minute, but it’s close. Sheri wrote a nice Christmas greeting for our card that people will like and fits the two of us to a “T” :D

What a contrast to last week. Last week was one of the hardest weeks. There was one thing after another that went wrong and no matter what you tried to do, nothing made it better. That’s work sometimes.
Thankfully today’s work day went very smooth and only three more days until Friday and that means the office Christmas party and the start of the weekend.

We got up at a decent hour this morning and decided to head out and get some weekly chores done. This way we’re not doing everything all at the last moment.
We made a little stop at Starbucks for something to eat and drink. When we got home, I foolishly set my cup on the table and left it alone for a few minutes. When I came back I found one of the gummies stuck in the lid, trying to get to the sweet drink inside. :D

Gummy Wonder
Sheri and I just got home from a night out on Huntington Harbor. We took a little boat tour (Cruise of Lights - www.cruiseoflights.org/home.html ) of the Christmas lights on all the houses and boats. It was pretty cold out. In the upper 40’s tonight. The boat ride was a fun one. Got to see a lot of really nice houses and boats. Now it’s time to get nice and warm and relax the rest of the night.
On the way home we drove through Naples and looked at the houses there and then made one more stop so one of the gummies could pose in front of one of the floating Christmas trees in the water. Got more of the tree than the gummy in this shot :D

It’s been awhile since I’ve picked up Betsy (my Canon EOS 20D) and taken a photo
with her. Ever since our trip to Disneyland, I’ve used Sheri’s Canon PowerShot SD850 IS for most of the photos I’ve taken. It’s not so much that I don’t like Betsy any more. To the contrary. She’s my baby. I just like to take macro shots, but unfortunately I don’t have a macro lens and so I must use Sheri’s camera. I need to be more than 11 inches away to take a photo with Betsy and because gummy bears are so little it’s best to get close to photograph them.
Now to explain this photo. Our boss needed a photo of the parking structure at work
for a client and Sheri and I take our camera’s to work everyday, we took care of it for
her.
This little gummy was “stuck” on Betsy when I grabbed her out of her bag, so I decided
to take a photo of it for today’s photo. :)

It’s been a bit on the busy side at work. There was a time I had little work to do and it drove me nuts. I’m someone who would prefer to be busy all day at work than have nothing to do. We’re staying later than we usually have to at work, so I figured I would do my photo now, this way I can relax when I get home.
How much work do I have to do... well the two piles on the right I just got today. Full of updates and such that I need to sort and enter into the database. The pile on the right is stuff are things I will likely have to update in the database, if I should need them. That’s not including my normal work.

Gummy Bear Eggs
Before yesterday’s concert, Sheri and I had a nice dinner and did a little shopping. One of the place’s we stopped into was, Sparky’s. They sell all sorts of candy as well as various toys and novelty items. We got some stocking stuffers for people and such. I also got a bag (and box) of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans. Sheri’s had them before, but I had never. I just recently go into Harry Potter and listened to the first three audio books. Yeah I could be reading the books themselves, but it’s easier to listen to them while I’m working. I’m there for 8 hours a day and gives me plenty
of time to get through them. I still need to finish the rest of the series and then I’ll see the movies.
Anyway, I brought the beans out and showed the gummies and told them that they could pick a couple of beans out, since they had been on such great behavior, especially when it comes to not messing around with the Christmas tree.
As soon as I put the bag on the table they went at it. As you can see, we even had a little scuffle over one of the beans. I was fine with it. Because they were fighting over the Sardine flavored bean, which I happened to ate two of them last night on the way home. Once out of pure curiosity and the second because it was night time and I thought it was something else. :D

This has nothing to do with tonight’s photo, but I am SOOOOOOOO Happy right now. For those not in the LA / Orange County area, every year for the past... oh... 15 years now KROQ (106.7fm) has had an annual Christmas concert called: “Almost Acoustic Christmas” and these tickets are hard to come by. Well about a month ago they made the announcement about this years concert. First they announced the first nights line-up. It’s usually the more “aggressive” night. A few interesting bands listed. Here they are as follows (in the order they will be playing, 1st to last):

The following day they announced the second nights line-up. Sheri and I had been racking our brains trying to guess who would be a part of the show and we both had our must for the show and as they played their little opening we anxiously wanted. Then it happened. The second we
heard the vocals, we went nuts. It was Muse!!! Sheri and I saw them back in April (2007) and had the concert experience of a lifetime. If you even are a casual listener of Muse then you HAVE to see them live. I cannot express that enough. You won’t be disappointed. Anyway...

Gummy Bears under the misteltoe
Sheri and I finished putting up the lights on the outside of The Ocho and decorating the Christmas tree, etc. There was one item that the gummy bears had found really interesting. It was separate from all the other decorations and very much out of their reach. High above them in the archway of our hallway is the spot we picked to hang our mistletoe. I noticed them gathering under it and just staring up at it. They had never seen something like that before and so Sheri and I had to show them after that...

Climb every snowman
As the decorations go up, so do the gummies. This is the first Christmas season where we’ve had as many gummy bears around The Ocho as we do now. Lots of little baby gummies too. Here they are climbing on our snowman :)

What a fun night we all had yesterday. It was the Christmas Parade here in Long Beach and Sheri and I got together with a bunch of friends over at David and Ryan’s. Played GH3, had some drinks, walked down to watch the parade for a few awhile and then had some more of the first two for a few more hours :)

Today is the first day of December and so as you can imagine Christmas is in full force. Last weekend with Black Friday was just the beginning.
